Introduction

I've had this blog sitting idle for the last few weeks because once I decided that I had something to say and wanted the option of being heard I got tongue-tied.

I'll try to start it this way. My name is Kevin and I am 29, single and living in New York City. I've lived here for a year and a half, which for true New Yorkers is the equivalent of being nouveau riche at the country club, but I like it here and I plan on sticking around for as long as I can stay on the ride.

Ok, so being new to blogging I assume that one needs to start with a mission or an intent for writing or else I could just have a journal and keep the ramblings to myself. My mission is this; to uncover the side of issues with promise or hope. There is a lot in this world that is dark and depressing. It's reality and I understand that, however I think we tend to be a society of people addicted to the bad-word. Good news can't be purely good, there has to be a catch and bad news is always just a sign of worse things to come.

Also, as a gay man in this city I've heard many rants from friends about the utter hoplessness of the scene and how impossible it all is.

I want to see and speak of the reasons to retain hope and stay optimistic.
I think another reason I'm commiting to writing this is because I know how easy it is to get swallowed up by the doubt and fear of what seems impossible. I also know that it can be shaken off and it is possible to accomplish great things. (general goody goody rant. yes, but no less true)

I'm not sure how this will play out with regular blog entries, but that is the intent.

So there it is.
